One of the most respected National Basketball Association agents lost his life on Sunday morning in a auto crash.

"Fegan was killed when the SUV he was driving was hit by a Roaring Fork Transportation Authority bus along Highway 82, the Colorado State Patrol said". Two other passengers were in the vehicle, one of them being his 5-year-old son, and they were airlifted to a hospital.

He was 56-years-old. Updates on their condition were not available Sunday night.

Fegan had represented several high-profile clients, including DeMarcus Cousins, John Wall, Dwight Howard, Ricky Rubio and Nene, and a 2016 Forbes profile referred to him as "one of the industry's most respected basketball agents". In March 2017, he was sacked by his employer Independent Sports and Entertainment (ISE) on the claim that he was "poisoning employer's business". The two sides were involved in a lawsuit after he was sacked.

Howard reacted to the news on Twitter, writing, "My heart and prayers go out to the family, especially Dan's young son who was apparently injured in this accident".

But then Fegan filed a suit against ISE's president and CEO Hank Ratner, asking for at least $30million.

Fegan's first client as a sports agent was his Yale Law School (he graduated from the school) fellow student and friend Chris Dudley. "We ask for privacy at this hard time".

Memphis Grizzlies forward Chandler Parsons tweeted: "I can't believe you are gone". I am forever grateful for what you did for me and will never forget that. This doesn't seem real, or fair, but i know you are in a better place.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wrote, "RIP Dan John".

The report of Fegan's death comes from Aspen, Colo. where early on Sunday morning Fegan's vehicle collided with a bus.
