Full Schedule Chargers open at Cardinals in 2018 preseason

Pittsburgh announced its preseason schedule Wednesday afternoon. Alex Smith's first in-game snaps with his new team will occur then, and the same can be said for the Washington Redskins various free agency acquisitions and future draft picks. These games will also be the only chance the players have a chance to operate in the new offensive and defensive schemes against opposing teams.

The final dates won't be announced until the full regular season schedule is released later this month.

The Texans will face the Chiefs, 49ers, Rams and Cowboys in the preseason this year. And for the New York Giants, that means all four exhibition games have now been set.

The Broncos will end the preseason with a familiar opponent as this will be the 12th time in the last 14 years Denver will have played the Cardinals in the preseason.

Returning home for Week 2 of the preseason, the Chargers will welcome the Seattle Seahawks to Los Angeles a year after hosting them for the first-ever National Football League preseason game played at StubHub Center.

The Seahawks defeated the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII after the 2013 season and played in Super Bowl XLIX, but they had a run of five consecutive postseason berths snapped last season.

Having played two slugfests against the New York Giants in the past two years, the Week 2 home preseason game could be a little awkward. In 2017, Denver finished with a ideal 4-0 preseason record. The Carolina Panthers come to Heinz Field on Thursday, Aug. 30. The game will also subsequently be two days before linebacker Ray Lewis is inducted into the Hall of Fame. Pittsburgh did cut some players prior to the roster deadline weekend last season.

As Hampton Roads' home of the Redskins, News 3 will have live, on-field coverage from Redskins Training Camp and preseason games.
