Civil Service examinations 2017 result, conducted in the month of June a year ago has been declared by the Union Public Service Commission. The second rank has been bagged by Anu Kumari and the third spot was taken by Sachin Gupta. She had qualified with Kannada Literature as her optional subject. An OBC candidate, Anudeep has graduated with BE (Electronics & Instrumentation) degree from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani.
8 women have made it to the UPSC top 25 list. She is a graduate of Delhi University and IMT, Nagpur.

Rai revealed that his son had been preparing for the civil services examination after completing his MTech in mathematics and computing from IIT Delhi in 2016.
Anudeep added, "Since I had a regular job, I did not get much time to study during the weekdays". Considered as one of the most toughest recruitment exams, more than 9.5 Lakh appeared for the Civils 2017.
Anu Kumari is the topper among the female candidates securing an overall second rank.
The civil services examination is conducted annually in three phases- preliminary, main and personality test or interview- to select officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others. Meanwhile, a physically challenged person, Ms Saumya Sharma, is among the top 10 candidates. 13,366 candidates qualified for an appearance in the Written (Main) Examination held in October - November 2017.
