"The Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline is an important tool individuals can, and must, use to ensure the safety of our children", said Child Maltreatment Prevention Director Kendra Dunn.
According to ICAN's most recent State of Child Abuse report, 1,785 Los Angeles County child abuse reports were submitted to the Department of Justice in 2016.

"They have a lot of stress in their life, they're feeling overwhelmed and they don't understand how their children develop", Bartleson said.
And, they were quickly uprighted as community members and others gathered at Child Haven to commemorate National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
"We actually begin preparations months in advance for this month's events", Wheat said. After all, child abuse and neglect is 100% preventable.
But one way of reducing the "toxic stress" abused children suffer is making sure they are "living with a caring, healthy adult", having social connections, being involved in community activities, being taught how to calm themselves and regulate their emotions, she asserted.
As third and final speaker, Hayley Armstrong, program coordinator the Courage Center 2, the county's child advocacy center in Fairfield.
"It's our responsibility to protect our children", Armstrong said. Unfortunately, child abuse is a problem in every county and community across Tennessee. Three specific actions - mentoring children and parents, advocating for family friendly policies in the workplace, and donating time and money - relate to child abuse while giving the public tools and resources they need.
Three-quarters (74.8 percent) of victims were neglected, 18.2 percent were physically abused and 8.5 percent were sexually abused.
