His brother, who was stood beside him when he was shot, said journalists were deliberately targeted by Israeli troops during the protest.

The medical humanitarian organisation, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), warned that in the weeks to come, more medical assistance would be required due to the increasing intensity of use of force by the Israeli forces.

Tonge criticized the absence of her fellow members of the House of Lords from the demonstration and their unwillingness to take any appropriate measures to stop the massacres committed against the Palestinians.

It called for clarification of Israeli military reports that Palestinians stoned and firebombed their positions and tried to cross the fence into Israel.
