Riverside's Emily Lamos got the home run derby started in the first inning with a three-run home run that gave the Beavers a 3-0 lead. The game was tied at ten when Jacelyn Barton singled on a 3-1 count to score two runs. Maryland's offense managed six hits, including two each form Brigette Nordberg and Kassidy Cross, but couldn't push any runs across.

Northeast won the opener 8-2 and the nightcap 9-3.

Taylor Wilson notched her first career triple in the bottom of the fourth, slicing a ball past a diving right fielder with two outs. Through 31 games this season, Huerta is in the Top 10 rankings in California for RBIs, hits, doubles, batting average and also 13th in total bases along with being ranked 14th in slugging percentage. Carly Duke drove in five runs in the two games.

Bender singled with one out before Nuckols sent her home with a triple to center field. Senior designated player Catrell Robertson doubled to drive in senior center fielder Leandra Jew.
