Manchester City clinch Premier League title

Manchester City could be confirmed as Premier League champions without playing on Sunday, but only if rivals Manchester United suffer a shock defeat at home to bottom club West Bromwich Albion.

City, who beat Tottenham 3-1 on Saturday, will be crowned champions if United lose at Old Trafford.

Pep Guardiola says it would mean more to him to win the Premier League title than lift the UEFA Champions League trophy.

I will be so happy and I will celebrate, but I think United will win.

"I think we share one thing maybe, the hunger and desire to never be satisfied", said Kompany.

With five games to go the points record (95, Chelsea 2004/05) wins record (30, Chelsea 2016/17) and goals scored record (103, Chelsea 2009/10) are all up for grabs.

City face relegation-threatened Swansea at Etihad Stadium on 22 April.

"The only score I want to know is bogey or birdie", said Guardiola. I assure you. Real Madrid, years ago, lost six in a row and didn't win the league.

Sterling sealed an impressive 3-1 victory for City against Tottenham at Wembley that moves them to within just one win of the Premier League title.

Jesus and Sterling passed up huge chances to add to their lead before Sterling - who also missed two great opportunities when City were 2-0 up on United last weekend - finally found the roof of the net after Lloris parried another Jesus effort.

"The moment he will improve that, he will be a top, top player because he's so fast, a dynamic player, has character one against one. But he is so young and he is able to do it".

"The way he got in positions. he's been doing it all season and he's not afraid to get in there and miss chances". Thiago is the son of 1994 Brazilian World Cup victor Mazinho and his ability to dictate play in midfield makes him a natural option to Silva.

His telling contribution is all the more outstanding given the Spaniard has had to spend a lot of time back in his homeland between games after the premature birth of his son in December. They were the right ones and the ones we believed in, I'm sure there are differences to how we play today compared to Bayern (Munich) and Barcelona, we survive and live by the strength of the team. "People might see what happened in the week as failure, but they don't understand anything about football".

United, meanwhile, will attempt to hold onto second place and automatic qualification into the Champions League group stages next season. I'm sorry, it's far more vital what these guys have completed all season.
