William previously told reporters outside the Lindo Wing on Monday that they would find out "very soon" when he was quizzed about a moniker for the new Prince.

They visited the hospital to meet their new baby brother for the first time. He weighed at 8 lbs., 7 oz.

The two-year-old, who turns three in May, has made it clear she is not shy of being filmed. Of course, with this being her third kid, Kate is used to the attention surrounding a royal birth at this point, and she handled it like a pro. William's father, Prince Charles, was a month old before his name was made public.

The Duke of Cambridge was at his wife's side as she gave birth and left for just a short while later in the afternoon to collect Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two. There were quite a few spectators watching as the royal family attended the event and naturally, Prince William fielded plenty of questions about the royal baby's name.

William, 35, and 36-year-old Kate are back at their Kensington Palace home in London.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge pride themselves on being modern, "hands-on" parents, but Dr Bastin said it was likely they'd have some help.

The Duke and Duchess reportedly used luxury design company Dragons of Walton Street, Knightsbridge, to create their children's nursery - the same company who designed William and Harry's childhood nursery.

Social media ignited on Monday when Kensington Palace revealed the Duchess of Cambridge was in labour, and later when her bouncing baby prince was delivered.

Talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres added her congratulations to the mix along with the quip: "Kate Middleton's new baby is now 5th in line to the throne, and season 43 of The Crown", referencing the Netflix drama about the royal family. The latest bookmaking odds in the United Kingdom are predicting a traditional name for the new prince, with Arthur, Albert, and Philip being the top predictions for the boy's name, and Frederick and James rounding out the list. After this arrival, Prince Harry becomes the sixth in line to the throne.

Keeping the sex of the baby a surprise until the delivery day, the Palace revealed that Kate had given birth to a healthy baby boy, with both mom and baby doing well.
