Unnao Rape Case Sack UP CM Yogi Adityanath Demands Congress

Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala

Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Narendra Modi to break silence over the heinous incidents of Kathua and Unnao.

Finally, noticing the severe backlash across the country against his deafening silence over the barbaric gangrapes of two young girls in J&K's Kathua and UP's Unnao, PM Narendra Modi has broken his silence.

In Kathua case, state police crime branch, which probed the case, filed a main charge-sheet against seven accused persons and a separate charge-sheet against a juvenile in a court in Kathua district earlier this week. Rahul Gandhi echoed the sentiment but demanded accountability from the government yesterday at a midnight candlelight march in Delhi.

"India wants to know: when?#SpeakUp", he said in a tweet.

Priyanka was accompanied by her husband Robert Vadra and their children, who were also present at the march along with other Congress leaders, party workers and students.

She was sedated and repeatedly raped before her head was smashed and her body thrown in the forests next to Rasana village.

After the plan had been discussed with him, Patel spread the word among other leaders of the party, including Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken, Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev, Congress general secretary Ashok Gehlot, and Rajya Sabha members Ghulam Nabi Azad and Digvijaya Singh. They attempted suicide over alleged inaction in the case.

"Women in India are scared to step out of their homes".

JKPCC Chief Shri G.A.Mir has said that Congress always stood for justice to the minor Victim of rape and murder and demanded that it should be ensured that culprits get the exemplarily punishment. "As a country, as a society we all are ashamed of it", the prime minister said.

In the Kathua case, the rape victim had disappeared from near her house on January 10. "What is the point of 'beti bachao" [the government's "save the girl child' campaign] if investigations and inquiries in such cases are not done in a proper manner and evidence is allowed to be destroyed?"

Singhvi added: "Look at Lekhi's language - 'You see their plan, first shout minority-minority, then Dalit-Dalit, and now women-women.' This shows the mindset of the ruling party". While Sengar's brother has been arrested, Sengar himself has been detained by the CBI.
