"That's going to include bikes, and that's going to include buses and subways, etc., and we want to be a part of the solution", he said, adding that Uber is sharing more data with cities to help them manage congestion.
Cab aggregator Uber has launched a new app for its drivers globally based on inputs received from these partners, including those from India. On April 9, the company said it had purchased Jump Bikes, a provider of dockless electric bicycles.
Getaround's offerings will appear through a side menu in the Uber app. Users will be able to find and unlock an available auto from their phones using wireless technology.

For mass transit, the San Francisco startup said it would allow app users to see various options and would launch a partnership with e-ticketing service Masabi that would eventually allow the Uber app to be used instead of tickets or passes. The Uber Rent feature, which is in partnership with car-sharing company Getaround, will let users find cars for short-term rentals using the Uber app. Uber Rent will be available later this month.
