While it wasn't publicly talked about on WWE television, most wrestling fans knew that Raw superstar Paige was injured and forced into retirement. What that means for her fans is unknown at this time.
It comes after the star suffered a neck injury when she was kicked from behind by Sasha Banks at an event in December.
Paige officially announced her retirement this week on RawWhat's the story?
On the Raw After Mania, Paige grabbed the mic after an Absolution match and announced she is retiring. Paige was only 21 when she clinched the Divas title; her record feat saw her become the youngest wrestler (be it male or female) in the WWE.
WWE also posted a tribute to Paige on Twitter, writing, "A leader".
The two-time Divas' Champion struggled to fight back tears as she explained the situation, thanked various people from inside and outside of WWE, all while the crowd vociferously thanked her for everything she has done during her time with WWE. Although she had some problems outside of the ring, there is no doubt that she was a huge reason for the success of the Women's Division in WWE. "I also thank Daniel Bryan as he returned from a career-threatening injury and competed in Wrestlemania, a night before, for that, it gives me hope".
She said: "Paige here and I'm extremely excited to show you a sneak peek of the new movie based on my life called Fighting With My Family".
Lashley just made his return to WWE television on Monday night so there's no telling what kind of schedule he'll be keeping once he gets things moving in his return to the promotion. She didn't look or act like the other women on the roster, which was something I could easily relate to. She leaves a t-shirt in the middle of the ring and signs-off by saying "And yeah, this will always be my house".
