Could Priyanka Chopra be the next superhero Ms Marvel?

Movie review Deadpool 2

Ryan Reynolds returns as the wise-cracking Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 2

Granted, we would give anything to see Groot get his own spinoff- the script writes itself - but during an interview with the BBC, Kevin Feige revealed that a film with the Muslim teen superhero Kamala Khan is "definitely sort of in the works". Over the weekend, Infinity War crossed the first Avengers film's $1.5 billion (Rs 10,000 crore) global box office haul to become the biggest Marvel movie ever, and the biggest film of the year. And it sounds like it will not take long for Captain Marvel to lead into another female-led movie, Ms. Marvel.

Making her debut in 2014, Kamala Khan, a teenage American Muslim from New Jersey, realised she was a superhero when she discovered she had shapeshifting abilities.

Ms Marvel is inspired by Captain Marvel and that is why there is a resemblance in the names.

Kamala Khan - a.k.a. Ms. Marvel - is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to Marvel Studios presidnet Kevin Feige.

Meanwhile, Ben Mendelsohn, who will star as the villain in the "Captain Marvel" movie, previously claimed that Brie is the flawless choice for the role of the Marvel superhero.

With Kamala's age, I think it would be flawless to have her be a classmate of one Peter Parker.

Since Priyanka Chopra has already lent her voice for a Ms Marvel video game her fans thought of her as an obvious and suitable choice. Both siblings were originally adversaries to Earth's Mightiest Heroes, first serving Hydra and then joining forces with Ultron, but when they learned the megalomaniacal robot wanted to wipe out all life on Earth, they switched allegiances and fought alongside the Avengers during the Battle of Sokovia. Not only is she capable of stretching her limbs to great lengths and widths, but she can also grow or shrink to incredible sizes.

The road beyond that point for the MCU is still a big unknown.

That's not even taking into account the several TV shows that Marvel is juggling.

Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019, so stay tuned to CinemaBlend for continuing coverage on the Marvel blockbuster.
