Moyes 'touch and go' to stay at West Ham

West Ham have reportedly met with Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca with a view to making him their next manager.

Everton started the day in eighth and finished in eighth, but it was a awful end to a disappointing season as they lost 3-1 to West Ham, and fans were fuming after another poor display from defender Michael Keane.

However, West Ham fans have never been fully convinced by Moyes and likewise neither has owner David Sullivan, who with co-chairman David Gold, has been mulling over their options.

The leading candidates to follow Moyes in the West Ham hotseat are as follows.

The Hammers are ready to offer him a sizeable budget and pay his £6million release clause, but it is believed they would struggle to match the personal terms he now enjoys on Tyneside - as he is one of the top paid managers in England's top-flight.

"We've shown we're trying to improve". "We will meet and talk next week".

"They made me some offers to stay here for a few more years, plus I have to manage my family: if I chose to go to Newcastle and stay there, even in the Championship, it's also because of my family".

"I hope very much that Rafa will remain at Newcastle United".

However with West Ham looking at their options the Scot could decide to walk away and seek employment elsewhere.

The other is former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, who is now managing in the Chinese Super League.
