Ashwin suffered another heartbreak when Yuzvendra Chahal dropped Bravo at deep extra cover as the all-rounder added 48 runs for the unbroken fifth wicket stand with Dhoni, that took CSK home. After dropping two simple catches in CSK's defeat against KKR in their last match, Jadeja appeared a man on a mission and returned 3/18, including the prized scalp of Virat Kohli whom he cleaned up for 8. The CSK batters have been doing well with Ambati Rayudu, Australian Shane Watson, West Indian Dwayne Bravo, skipper Dhoni and Suresh Raina contributing regularly. This also settles the RCB batting order chaos where they had a problem of plenty of openers.

A look at the number of boundaries Dhoni has hit over the years speaks volumes of his ability to take controlled risks and not swing his bat at anything and everything.

Despite a low total to defend, there was no let up in intensity from the RCB bowlers.

Both sides have made three changes in their playing XI as AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel and Murugan Ashwin replaced Quinton de Kock, Manan Vohra and Washington Sundar for Bangalore.

After it slumped to 89/8 in 15.1 overs, pacer Tim Southee used the long handle effectively to score 36 runs in the next five overs, thus giving some respectability to RCB's final score of 127/9. However, CSK lost its most recent match at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders after Dinesh Karthik won the match and invited the Superkings to bat first. Ravindra Jadeja walked away with the Man of the Match Award.

AB de Villiers (1) returned after missing two games due to fever but lasted only four deliveries as the South African was stumped off the first delivery he faced against Harbhajan. "Virat's wicket is always a huge wicket, I was thinking I got a good wicket", said Jadeja when asked about the incident.

Patel however, continued to battle on at the other end bringing up his half-century with a single off Harbhajan in the 12th over. That's where Bhajju pa (Harbhajan Singh) and Jadeja did well. Of course, Jadeja and Harbhajan deserve credit for bowling a ideal length - not too full or too short - and using variations in pace to prise out wickets that included AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. It personally feels good that what I was working on in the nets all these days finally worked well for me in this match. Overall I'm very happy. Southee leapt on to pouch the ball, flicked it back even as he went over the rope and then came back to hold it just in time, to send Raina back in the hut.
