Donald Trump Again Tweets Regrets About Choosing Jeff Sessions

Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, made the comments while discussing Sessions' recusal of himself from the Russian Federation investigation. "And I wish I did!" the president added.

Giuliani has gained attention in recent weeks for contradicting President Trump over his knowledge of a $130,000 payment made to adult actress Stormy Daniels in October 2016 through attorney Michael Cohen.

When House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Trey Gowdy pushed back on President Donald Trump's Spygate concerns during a Fox News interview Tuesday, mainstream media outlets and pundits splashed the South Carolina Republican's comments everywhere.

The tweets come after the New York Times reported that Trump tried to get Sessions to reverse his decision to recuse himself in Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe, which could be key in the investigation into whether the President obstructed justice.

"I can understand why the president is frustrated by it", Giuliani said. "He is entitled to ask Jeff Sessions to unrecuse himself from this investigation".

Rather than defending the high-profile member of his administration, Trump got onboard with bashing Sessions. "Things are moving in his direction..." Will you please raise your hand?' he mocked. Why Trump keeps undermining him while keeping Sessions in place is beyond Gonzales' comprehension. "That's how I read that", Gowdy said. "I didn't take it because I wanted to be secretary of state". 'Well, the answer's perfectly clear, to me. But Wednesday's tweets "show that the subject is still very much on his mind, rekindling fears that he might choose to fire Sessions and derail Special Counsel Robert Mueller's probe". "I don't know what he was doing", Giuliani said of Gowdy, who led the House investigation into Benghazi.

The president has cast the FBI's use of an informant as evidence the bureau was "spying" on his campaign, which Trump and his allies have suggested without evidence was at the behest of then-President Obama. Control of the investigation was shifted to Mueller when he was appointed special counsel after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey in May 2017. "He is worthless. The sooner the president names a new attorney general the better". A former business partner of Cohen's has agreed to cooperate in that probe and plead to NY state charges.

Giuliani also took a shot at Gowdy's handling of the House Benghazi Committee, which he chaired as the panel investigated the 2012 terrorist attack that resulted in the loss of four American lives in Libya.
