Egypt worldwide winger Mohamed Salah spoke about the strengths of the Egyptian national team and what he and his teammates are trying to achieve in the World Cup.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah arrived in Egypt from Spain to join World Cup preparations after recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered in the Champions League final, sources at Cairo airport said on Thursday.

Egypt have now completed their warm-up schedule and open their World Cup campaign against Uruguay on 15 June.

Salah added: "He sent me a message, but I never told him it was "okay".

Salah has been working constantly on his shoulder since the injury and hopes "to play the first game against Uruguay", but it will depend on how much progress he makes between now and then.

The record seven-time African champions have qualified for the World Cup for only the third time and first since 1990.

The Liverpool superstar left the field in tears as his Champions League dream was crushed, simultaneously leaving his World Cup hopes hanging by a thread. It was a big blow for Egypt as well with the World Cup looming but Salah is on his recovery and should be available for the major tournament.

Speaking afterwards, Hazard praised Egypt's performance in the absence of Premier League Golden Boot victor Salah, who he hopes will take part at the showpiece tournament.

Belgium led 2-0 at half-time thanks to Lukaku and Hazard following a comfortable opening 45 minutes against Egypt.

He was included in the Egyptian squad announced on Monday.

Nigeria turned in a disappointing performance in their final tune-up, losing 1-0 to the Czech Republic who failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Belgium's Romelu Lukaku, right, is congratulated by teammate Belgium's Kevin De Bruyne after scoring his sides first goal during a friendly soccer match between Belgium and Egypt at the King Baudouin stadium in Brussels, Wednesday, June 6, 2018.

But speaking prior to the team's departure for Russia, Salah spoke positively of his chances of lining up in Yekaterinburg. "I think I've improved with him".
