Fortnite, Epic's mega popular sandbox survival game, could soon be headed to the Nintendo Switch if recent intelligence proves legitimate. Fortnite has been listed for release on the Switch on the Korean Ratings Board.
It confirms that Fortnite is a game where you "collect resources and build defensive fortresses to stop monsters", ruling out that it's for Battle Royale.
The image, shown below, also displays marketing materials for Dragon Ball FighterZ which Kotaku say makes this leak seem more credible as they have heard rumors about it coming to the Switch from other sources.
In the meantime, you can play Fortnite on a variety of other platforms until E3 2018 begins on June 12th. Given the game's current popularity we're not surprise that Epic Games is looking to extend its reach by bringing it onto more platforms such as the Switch. The description for the rating details a "third-person shooter action Nintendo Switch game", and makes mention of resource collection and defensive fortresses.
There have been plenty of rumors swirling lately that Nintendo would feature a Fortnite Switch reveal within its Nintendo Direct presentation. "Epic Games did not immediately respond to a request for comment", the report states. We should get Paladins and Dragon Ball FighterZ ports as well as a new Mario Tennis game.
The Nintendo E3 Direct will be a pre-recorded showcase.
Is Fortnite coming to Switch?
For anyone hoping to see some big Fortnite news at E3, they will probably want to tune into the Nintendo conference. With E3 coming in the next few weeks, hopefully we won't have to wait too much longer to know for sure. On top of the two limited-time modes going on now in Battle Royale, players can participate in the game's second competition: Blitz Showdown.
