Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James (23) watches a shot during the fourth quarter against the Golden State Warriors in game four of the 2018 NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena.

To look more appealing to James, the Cavs need to upgrade their roster and they took a significant step by selecting Alabama point guard Collin Sexton with the No. 8 overall pick.

"We continue to have good dialogue with his management team", general manager Koby Altman said of James, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

I probably would have taken Mikal Bridges over Sexton. "We're very, very fortunate to have him here, and what he gave to this franchise was nothing short of remarkable".

Throughout the National Basketball Association, fans and experts alike have now seemingly agreed that LeBron James will likely decide between re-signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers and taking his talents to Southern California. He has said he'll be factoring in his family's well being in his decision to stay in Cleveland or go elsewhere.

Despite their issues at guard, James led the Cavs to their fourth straight Finals, but they sorely missed Irving and didn't have almost enough firepower to hang with the Golden State Warriors, who swept them and won their third title in four years.

Love has two seasons remaining on his deal with the Cavaliers and is owed just more than $49.7 million. I knew that question would come. The win ultimately propelled Alabama to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2012.

The Cavs had sent strong signals ahead of the draft they wanted to upgrade the roster with veterans, and they still can with some trade chips and their salary cap exception (which Altman said Friday he intends to use). They never came close, and without a dependable second scoring option or a guard, James was forced to shoulder a heavier load than ever.

The Cavs have a chance to develop a young talent into a potential star to really contribute to the success of the franchise whether or not the choice Lebron makes.

James is being linked to teams who might be better equipped to build a contender to challenge the Golden State Warriors, but has given no indication where he might be headed next.

The final remnant left in Cleveland from the Kyrie Irving trade is even seizing the vacant jersey number 2. And then you feel people, like, you feel them. The Cavs have been signaling that theyre looking to upgrade their team from the group that was swept out of the Finals this month, whether James stays or goes. After showing off his jersey at a news conference Friday, Sexton said he doesn't feel pressure to live up to Irving's high standards.
