Mourinho is said to be willing to part with £65m to sign Maguire - what would represent a new club record fee for Leicester after their £60m sale of Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City a fortnight ago.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Anthony Martial has left Manchester United's tour of the United States to attend the birth of his second child in Paris.

Martial's agent has admitted that a move elsewhere will be considered during the current transfer window, but Rooney is hoping to see a player of considerable promise stay put. But, the player's ambition has grown after a stellar World Cup campaign.

Mourinho offered a dismissive response to the rumors surrounding Martial's exit, explaining in an interview with Goal's Sacha Pisani that "you don't get always in life what you want".

Former Red Devil Wayne Rooney has issued a warning to Manchester United about selling young forward Anthony Martial.

The 22-year-old has publicly announced that he wants to leave the club with Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur sniffing around his situation. Some may want to move for reasons to do with their family, others may want more recognition and some simply want to leave for more playing time or a bigger role. "It's about him giving the best he has to give", said Mourinho during the club's pre-season tour of the US.

The France global has returned to Paris to be at the birth of his son, but manager Jose Mourinho is not happy about the late notice given and the club have failed to confirm or deny whether he had received permission from his coach.

With less than two weeks remaining until the transfer window closes, all does not appear to be well in the Manchester United camp.

He has voiced his concerns in pre-season with United short, particularly at right-back.

"But I think once you do get to know him, you just keep him happy".
