There are many fans of the Rocky movie franchise who believe that part IV was the best film in the series, as it most easily lends itself to the classic David vs. Goliath motif.

West Ham have had a good summer themselves, appointing Manuel Pellegrini as manager and making big name signings like Felipe Anderson and Jack Wilshere.

The Reds have strengthened in the close season with the likes of Alisson, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri arriving and boss Klopp says Liverpool are ready to "really go for it".

"It's pretty normal that there would be one point where we spent a bit more money". You have to create a squad which is strong enough and wide enough to cope with the Premier League.

"We have to be in the championship mode", he said. More aggressive in the right moments.

But the German recognises it remains a sizeable task and likened City to Drago, the formidable rival to fictional boxing character Balboa.

"We are still Rocky Balboa and not Ivan Drago, we are the ones who have to do more and fight more, that must be our attitude. Football is so hard, we try to play in a better way and get near the top of the table as we can".

"The league is exactly the same".

Liverpool FC are still aiming to win their first trophy under Klopp since his appointment as the Merseyside outfit's new manager back in October 2015. We have to improve everything.

"We have to be more consistent, that's how it is".

Liverpool haven't won the title since the Premier League's inception in 1992, with their last success coming in 1990.

"But again, you all ask me about the gap of City and what we have to do".

"It is hard to win every game, if we see how Wolves, Fulham or Everton act, they are all ambitious".

Speaking of Manchester United, this summer has seen Mourinho start his 3rd season syndrome significantly early with ironic rants about Klopp's spending and players attending their children's birth or enjoying themselves too much on holiday as well as having digs at the board for not getting him his 5 targets.
