Microsoft announces ‘Xbox All Access’ with two-year console financing

The plan includes a console, 24 months of Xbox Live Gold and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass for a flat monthly fee. When the 24-month payment period ends, the Xbox One S or Xbox One X will be yours to own completely.

Essentially an interest-free console financing plan, Xbox All Access will last for a limited time and, as earlier rumors suggested, appears to only be available in the United States.

At those prices, you'll end up paying about $530 for the Xbox One S, versus about $640 if you were to purchase the console, Gold, and Game Pass separately.

"This is one of the most value-driven ways to join the Xbox family we've ever offered", Microsoft wrote in a blog post Monday.

Microsoft has added two tiers to Xbox All Access - $21.99 (or approx Rs 1,540) for the Xbox One S and $34.99 (or approx Rs 2,500). Microsoft removed all references to VR on it's Project Scorpio web page ahead of its 2017 E3 presentation, and it didn't speak about VR at all during the official reveal of the Xbox One X console.

When Oculus released the specifications for the consumer headset, the idea of plugging it into an Xbox console went out the window because it offers resolution greater than 1080p.

The only catch seems to be that this is now a limited time offer, "while supplies last". For new accounts, April rates are variable and can range from 19.24% to 29.99%, and your particular rate is based on your credit. There's also no interest applied so long as the purchase is paid in full within 24 months. If you can get a regular post-paid mobile account with a financed phone, you should be able to get Xbox All Access. Anybody interested in signing up for Xbox All Access? In other words, outside of what's likely a 30-day return policy, you're stuck with this if you change your mind later.

"We don't have a goal of being the subscription where you get all your content".

This isn't the first time Microsoft has dabbled in Xbox subscriptions. As with all contracts that require a monthly payment, you obviously want to a do a bit of financial planning before you commit.
