Roseanne Character Will Be Killed Off In 'The Conners,' John Goodman Says

Roseanne Barr will pay the ultimate price for the racist comments that got her fired from the highly rated reboot of "Roseanne" in May.

While Kenney and McNamara had appeared as series regulars during Roseanne's tenth and final season, it marks a larger role for Rey would had previously appeared as a recurring character instead of part of the main cast.

The "Roseanne" cancellation came after Barr posted a racially charged tweet about Valerie Jarrett, a former adviser to President Barack Obama.

In a new interview with The Times, Goodman revealed that after the series was canceled he went through a period of depression, saying he was "broken-hearted" by Barr's actions and the ending of the series. Speculation is that her character will be killed off, and although Goodman said the status of her character is "unknown" at this time, he did further the speculation by adding that he guesses Dan will be "mopey and sad because his wife's dead".

"I thank John Goodman for speaking truth about me, despite facing certain peril from producers and network", Barr tweeted of Goodman, who played her onscreen husband, Dan Conner, on Roseanne for 10 seasons.

John Goodmans character, it was revealed by Roseanne in the last seasons closing minutes in 1997, had really died at his daughters wedding.

Many people have spoken about the new direction the show will take and how The Conners will survive without Roseanne Barr.

The trio joins returning stars John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman in The Conners. He says he hasn't heard from her since the show was canceled.

"She had to sign a paper saying that she relinquished all her rights to the show so that we could go on", he said.

The tenth season of ROSEANNE debuted past year to stellar reviews and even better ratings, bringing one of America's most loved TV families back in a big way. "And she's still going through hell".
