Since then, Sonic has spawned endless video games, cartoons, and even the longest running comic book based on a video game.

Paramount Pictures' live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie is moving fast and loose - in more ways than one! There's Dewy from the new Duck Tales, who is blue.

Schwartz is not new to the voice acting game, now starring as Dewey Duck on the Disney Channel reboot of Duck Tales and will voice Leonardo in Nickelodeon's upcoming Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was confirmed that Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation, House of Lies) will provide the voice for the title character. A little known fact about Schwartz is that he was also credited under "Vocal Consultants" in Star Wars: The Force Awakens' BB-8.

What do you think of this casting? "It will be live-action", Carrey said, regarding the movie.

Marsden will play a small-town cop from South Dakota who ends up going on a road trip to San Francisco with Sonic the Hedgehog as they race against the evil Dr. Robotnik (Carrey) to recover Sonic's rings. Jim Carrey was previously announced as the classic villain Doctor Robotnik, with James Marsden and Tika Sumpter rounding out the cast. Hopefully we'll be hearing more about this perplexing movie as production continues. Neal H. Moritz is producing, and Deadpool director Tim Miller is executive producing alongside Original Film exec Toby Ascher. The film will dash into theaters on November 15, 2019.
