DeMarcus Cousins is known for having some disagreements with National Basketball Association officials, but those differences are usually caused when he is on the floor.
The four-time All-Star proved as much on Friday night (Oct 26), when he was issued a technical foul and tossed from the Golden State Warriors' bench during the first quarter of their 128-100 win over the New York Knicks.
And the reasoning for why is a bit weird.
As play resumed following a timeout with 2:28 remaining in the period, it was announced that Cousins had been assessed a technical foul during the break, and then subsequently ejected.
According to The Undefeated, Cousins was actually ejected for a couple of reasons.
Foster did not go into detail about what Cousins said to him.
But the big man got involved some controversy was ejected against the Knicks after rowing with the referee Scott Foster from the bench and he received a technical. When Cousins responded to Foster's warning, whatever he said didn't fly. Cousins and Kanter did not oblige.
Head coach Steve Kerr still has some things to figure out about the incident.
"I'm trying to figure it out, too", he told The Undefeated.
Cousins, who signed as a free agent with the National Basketball Association champs in the offseason, was thrown out of the game by referee Scott Foster. "I'll talk to him about it-I gotta hear from Demarcus what happened and we'll talk it out".
