Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Saturday filed a written complaint with the Mumbai cyber police against a person and a YouTube channel, alleging that a video featuring him has been edited to make it appear as though the actor expressed his views on the ongoing controversy between Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar. While actresses like Kangana Ranaut, Twinkle Khanna and Priyanka Chopra came out in support of her, choreographer Ganesh Acharya and the makers of Horn Ok Please Rakesh Sarang and Samee Siddiqui have rubbished all the allegations.
Nana Patekar is yet to respond to these allegations.
According to officials from the commission, a notice has also been shot to the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) to explain the procedure to redress sexual harassment complaints.
Ganesh Acharya also denied the incident. In a statement, Ms Rahatkar said the panel has taken cognisance of Ms Dutta's complaint on her alleged sexual harassment. But according to her, it was not a complete statement and many portions of it were deleted.
She further said before shooting the song, which was supposed to be a solo song picturised only on her, she had clearly mentioned that she will not enact or perform any lewd, vulgar or uncomfortable steps. Now, after 10 years, she has again registered a complaint with the Oshiwara police station and her statement was set to be recorded on Tuesday (October 9).
The 67-year-old actor's lawyer has sent a legal notice to Tanushree Dutta for allegedly making false accusations against him in an incident that dates back to a decade.
