Oprah Winfrey has delivered an impassioned speech in her push to elect America's first black female governor, as US Vice President Mike Pence took aim at the star for using her fame to influence politics.
"Oprah Winfrey has a spiritual connection with so much of this country, and it was built over years and years of doing that talk show", McDowell said on Fox News's "Outnumbered".
Stacey Abrams' supporters gathered under the pavilion at the closed Home Depot in the Westgate Mall Shopping Center on Friday for Abrams' Early Voting Bus Tour.
"You keep standing strong for the values that matter to me, and the values that matter to Georgians all over this state", she added. Kemp has also swung back at Abrams by saying that she is advocating for "illegals to vote" for her, which Abrams denies. "When I go to the polls, I cast a vote for my grandmother who died in 1963 before the voting rights act of 1965 and never had the chance to vote", Winfrey said.
Multiple polls show a statistical dead heat between Kemp and Abrams, with a low percentage of undecided voters remaining.
Among that "onslaught", Winfrey blasted Republican ads she'd seen in her hotel room casting Abrams as too radical for the state, calling it "noise...created to confound you with fear".
"Nationalizing yourself is always tenuous territory, because you don't want to look like you're someone who celebrities and East Coast elites like, and you're not going around your constituents", McCain said. Actor Michael B. Jordan has knocked on doors in Atlanta urging black voters to turn out, and Actor and comedian Will Ferrell has also canvassed for Abrams' campaign. For example, Brian Kemp canceled a debate between himself and Stacey Abrams just a week ago. He then blasted Abrams' policy pitches on health care and education. Goosing a GOP base that holds Trump and Pence in high regard is key to the approach. Can you imagine having your doorbell ring and finding her on the other side?
Winfrey addressed a crowd in Marietta, Georgia, on the same day and encouraged people to vote and to vote for Abrams for governor.
