Oprah: 'Not Trying to Test Any Waters' With Abrams Speeches

In her address at a town hall event in Georgia, Winfrey called on Americans everywhere to exercise their right to vote and encouraged citizens of the Peach State to consider casting their ballot in favor of Abrams. He hit the trail Thursday with Vice President Mike Pence. The debate between Kemp and Abrams was originally scheduled for 5 p.m. that same day. I've earned the right to think for myself.

"You get a vote!"

Winfrey attends two forums with Democratic nominee Stacey Abrams.

"If she was a Republican and she was running against Trump in the primary, I'd have a tough decision to make", Watters quipped. With Metz consistently pulling down just a couple of points of support, no poll of the race so far has either Kemp nor Abrams breaking 50 percent.

She also went door to door, to the shock of some Georgia voters.

She added that Abrams is "standing strong for the values that matter to me and the values that matter to Georgians all over this state".

"I am here today because Stacey Abrams cares about the things that matter", Winfrey said. In 2008, incumbent GOP Senator Saxby Chambliss was forced into a runoff with Democratic challenger Jim Martin, who had been buoyed by an increased black turnout with Barack Obama at the top of the ticket.

Oprah Winfrey made it clear when she was in Georgia on Thursday to campaign for gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams that she was not there to lay the groundwork for a presidential bid of her own. I'm not trying to test any waters - don't want to go in those waters.

"I got a message for all of Stacy Abram's liberal Hollywood friends", he continued.

The Georgia governor's race is one of the most closely watched campaigns in the nation and is attracting top surrogates from both parties in the final days before the election.

More than 1.5 million of the state's nearly seven million registered voters have cast ballots already. In January, when she gave a speech at the Golden Globe Awards, it ignited speculation that she too may be looking to run for president in 2020.
