T-Mobile is offering to slash the price of the OnePlus 6T in half when trading in a qualifying phone, with the discount being applied over 24 monthly bill credits (essentially locking you into a two-year commitment).

Before moving on to show you what the OnePlus 6T doesn't have compared to its pricier competitors, you'll notice I largely mentioned the larger models of smartphone lineups above.

OnePlus' newest device, with a starting price of $549, can be head with either 6GB or 8GB RAM, with 128GB or 256GB storage, and in Mirror Black or Midnight Black finishes. However, OnePlus justifies this step by offering double storage along with some extra goodies.

In addition to the new gestures, OnePlus 6 users can now use "Nightscape" camera mode.

One would thus expect the OnePlus 6T to have a red version as well.

The moral of the story is: If you're an enthusiast, don't buy a carrier device. There is no Type-C headphone inside the box and you have the option to buy the new Bullet earphones from OnePlus. The second change is the removal of capacitive fingerprint sensor, and replaced with an in-display scanner.

There's also the inclusion of an embedded fingerprint scanner which is now hidden under the screen.

The rear of the OnePlus 6T looks exactly similar to the 6, minus the fingerprint sensor. OnePlus has slimmed down the bezels around the screen, and the infamous display notch is now just a tiny water drop-shaped cutout for the front-facing camera. OnePlus has also launched Star Wars Edition for the OnePlus 5T and Avengers Edition for the OnePlus 6T.

And to that end, the OnePlus 6T delivers a set of specifications that matches and often exceeds what's available in much more expensive devices like the Samsung Galaxy S9+ or the Google Pixel 3 XL. The smartphone runs on the latest OxygenOS 9.0 which is based on Android Pie.Under the hood, the smartphone runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor. In other words, even an old OnePlus X that wasn't even $300 at retail can be traded-in right now for a $300 discount on the OnePlus 6T.
