Grande opens the video as Regina George from 2004's "Mean Girls". Before that, Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" held the record at 43.2 million views in a single day.

Through a series of Instagram photos, she revealed that the video is going to be paying tribute to some of the most iconic movies from the noughties - including 13 Going on 30, Legally Blonde, Bring it On and, of course, Mean Girls.

Jonathan did get to hang with the "army trousers and flip-flops" girl though. better known as Stefanie Drummond.

The almost five-minute video also features plenty of celebrity cameos, including Jennifer Coolidge and Jonathan Bennett, reprising their roles as Paulette in "Legally Blonde" and Aaron Samuels in "Mean Girls", respectively.

Grande's former Victorious co-star, Matt Bennett was featured as well.

Not an OG star but still a babe Kris Jenner - who utters the words "Thank u, next, bitch" in the video - wrote "I'm not a regular mom, I'm a cool mom." . As she sings the bridge ("One day I'll walk down the aisle, holdin" hands with my mama / I'll be thankin' my dad, "cause she grew from the drama"), she carries a version of the 2004 rom-com's Barbie Dream House with tiny cutouts of a photo of the singer with shoulder-length hair she teased on Instagram on November 15.

During her cheer-leading skit, the uniform is plastered with the initials TUN, which might indicate towards the song - Thank U, Next.
