Nuggets fear Paul Millsap has broken toe

Parker, now in his 18th National Basketball Association season, made big plays throughout as the Hornets ended a three-game skid. Millsap is averaging 13.5 points and has had at least 14 points and five rebounds in 11 of the last 21 games.

The Nuggets play the Hawks on Saturday in Atlanta and could be without the services of their starting power forward.

Atlanta also got 18 points and five assists from DeAndre' Bembry and 13 points, including three 3-pointers, from Vince Carter.

The Denver Nuggets fear that Paul Millsap suffered a broken toe during Friday's loss at Charlotte.

The Hawks will be without forward Taurean Prince for three weeks with a left ankle injury, meaning there will be more offensive expectations on John Collins and Young. Nuggets center Nikola Jokić (16 points, 12 rebounds and six assists) and Juancho Hernangómez (15 points and 10 rebounds) both recorded double-doubles and Malik Beasley had 16 points off the bench.

The Boston Celtics maintained their winning form with their fifth straight victory, thrashing the Chicago Bulls 133-77, while LeBron James finished with 20 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in the Los Angeles Lakers' 111-88 win against the Memphis Grizzlies. He's shooting 40.7 percent from the field thus far this year.

After the game, Nuggets coach Michael Malone said that Millsap "had a cut" on his foot, but as the evaluation continued, the injury that took him off the floor appears to be much worse.

"No excuses", Denver coach Michael Malone said. "I mean he's a vet, 17 years in the game, so that's his go-to move". "If Paul's not able to go on Saturday, that's an opportunity for somebody else". That means that somebody else gets an opportunity off the bench. "To control the boards against a team like this really helped us get out and run".

This will be the final meeting between the two teams this season.

Denver guard Gary Harris has missed the last two games with a right hip injury.
