Can Sarri take solace in Guardiola's slow start at Man City?

Pep Guardiola's side only returned to the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday, following their win at Everton, after trailing Liverpool for several weeks.

"I think we were lucky [in the last match vs City] because we scored in a very hard moment in the match", he was quoted as saying by Goal.com, speaking to reporters. Not really, but the view from outside is completely different.

"If you analyse Chelsea's 2-0 win over City in December, Guardiola's side were by far and away the best side for large parts of the game", he told Sky Sports.

"That's the world outside, and we live in that world".

"He's very useful for Eden and they are really very suitable to play together", added Sarri.

"I think we will be able to fight for the top four this season".

Back-to-back draws have seen Liverpool relinquish their place at the summit of the league table to Manchester City as they squandered opportunities to build a more substantial lead at the top.

'He needs time, ' Klopp said.

"It was always clear there would be games where you really have to keep your nerve, everybody: in the stand and on the pitch", he said. If I could shake the hand of every one of them I would, but I don't think the stadium can stay open long enough for me to do so for 50,000 people!

Just only, interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was announced as the Premier League manager of the month after successfully going unbeaten since taking over the job from sacked manager Jose Mourinho in December a year ago.

"On and off the pitch it is about the Liverpool family and nobody else, especially on days like today when we need our opponent to feel the power of Anfield".

'We only put him in the Champions League squad because we think there's a chance for him to play.

"It was always clear we had to change things for the better". We have been brilliant this season, the support has been brilliant.

"I'm not a massive numbers guy, but Mike Gordon (president of club owners Fenway Sports Group) didn't jump on me this morning and say 'The numbers are fantastic, come on let's go and spend all the money!'" said the manager.

"That's fine, I hope we don't need too much money in the next years, because if you have the right players in, work with them".
