The Los Angeles Rams' quarterback Jared Goff is only 24 years old and has never before played in a Super Bowl. And because L.A.is involved, this particular Super Bowl also happens to be a rivalry of the century: an East Coast vs. This game doesn't lack for storylines as majority have revolved around New England's championship pedigree and significant experience advantage vs. a young, talented Rams team eager to prove it belongs on this stage. The franchise's only Super Bowl championship came at Super Bowl XXXIV, when they beat the Tennessee Titans after the 1999 season and were still in St. Louis. Last year, New England was on the receiving end of a 41-33 loss against the Eagles, while 12 months earlier they beat Atlanta 34-28 in overtime.
In the last decade, only three Super Bowls have gone over 56.5 points, with the Patriots involved in two occasions.
That would be the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams. This will be the third Super Bowl in a row for the Patriots (they lost a year ago to the Philadelphia Eagles, a big win for fans of underdog narratives), and many might be asking, how could anyone still pull for the Patriots to win? The Rams have only been to four Super Bowls, and this is their first since they lost to the Patriots at Super Bowl XXXVI.
Super Bowl LIII kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
