"Airwolf" Star Jan-Michael Vincent Dead at 74 After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

Citing his death certificate, TMZ is reporting that 80s heartthrob Jan-Michael Vincent has died. He was ultimately cremated.

Airwolf, which ran for four seasons between 1984 and 1987, saw Vincent play the lead role of helicopter pilot Stringfellow Hawke. His most recent role was in the 2002 drama "White Boy".

Vincent's credits also included "The Undefeated", "Hooper", "Gunsmoke", "Bite the Bandit" and the 1972 movie "The Mechanic".

Airwolf star Jan-Michael Vincent is dead at the age of 74. His other memorable roles include "Hard Country", which he co-starred with Kim Basinger in 1981 along with the 1978 film, "Hopper", with Burt Reynolds.

He was nominated for two Golden Globes: supporting actor for Going Home and supporting actor for the 1983 miniseries The Winds of War.

Vincent's career started in the late '60s, when he appeared on such TV series as Lassie and Bonanza.

Vincent struggled with addiction issues and in 2012 contracted a leg infection which ultimately resulted in the actor having the lower half of his right leg amputated.

He is survived by his third wife, Patricia Ann Christ, and a daughter from his first marriage.
