Eagles Will Likely Trade or Release DE Michael Bennett

The Inquirer reports that the franchise has talked about trade possibilities with other National Football League teams, adding that Bennett will be released if Philadelphia fails to make a deal.

As the New England Patriots to get ready for another season and look towards yet another Super Bowl title, Bennett will now step into Trey Flowers' place on the Patriots defensive line. The Philadelphia Inquirer first reported the trade on Friday afternoon. "But I still know that I" m one of the best players in the NFL. "I actually want a pay raise at this point", Bennett said.

Michael Bennett could have a quick reunion with the Eagles, as they are set to host the Patriots next season.

Bennett is headed into his age-34 season and was still incredibly productive a year ago with 34 tackles (15 for loss), nine sacks, 30 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles. Bennett fits the Patriots very well, considering he is very versatile, playing all along the line and doing it well. Since 2014, only Khalil Mack and Von Miller have produced more quarterback pressures than Michael Bennett's 374.

The New England Patriots are making a move for a veteran pass rusher.

Bennett had a limited role prior to Barnett's injury a year ago and was asked to rush from the right side of the line after spending much of his career on the left side. From a productivity standpoint, Bennett has been the more efficient player.

The problem is, of course, Bennett was their best defensive end last season and his production won't be easy to match. Bennett seemed to have a good relationship with both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick during his time with the organization.
