Football world reacts to blockbuster Odell Beckham Jr.-Jabrill Peppers trade

Odell Beckham offers emotional goodbye to Giants fans

Odell Beckham offers emotional goodbye to Giants fans

She missed 46 days of work and returned to the Jets on December 31 when she got a text that night from Beckham Jr.

Few fanbases around the league were happier than Cowboys Nation to hear about the blockbuster trade between the Giants and Browns on Tuesday night.

The deal is conditional on both players passing physicals. The artistic rendering has been making the rounds on social media over the past 12 hours.

While Beckham is immensely talented, there is some baggage as he can be temperamental and hard. He was sacked less than two years later. Big Blue handed OBJ a five-year, $90 million contract extension less than seven months ago. He was the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2014. The trade also included an exchange of draft picks.

Don't worry, Olivier Vernon is still coming to Cleveland in exchange for Kevin Zeitler. However, seeing what the Browns reportedly gave up (Jabril Peppers, a first round pick and a third-round pick), would Broncos fans have wanted to see that?

On Thursday, the newly acquired Browns receiver posted an emotional message to Instagram, thanking the Giants organization and fans for their support. The Giants passed on drafting the successor to Eli Manning, selecting instead running back Saquon Barkley. Without them, I wouldn't be exactly who I am today!

"#DawgsGottaEat", Landry wrote for the caption on his photo of Beckham in his new threads. "Movement" was the caption. The Browns obliged and the sides mutually made a decision to cancel the deal struck earlier in the day.

Landing Beckham is his signature move, a signal that he believes the Browns are on the verge of a Super Bowl run. Just one season removed from going 0-16, Cleveland now has 7-1 odds to win the AFC, behind only the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs at the SuperBook.

In the past week, the next step has turned into a rebuild.

It's interesting to imagine what it would have been like if the Broncos were able to trade for Beckham. In exchange, the Browns would have sent the Giants a fifth-round pick (No. 155). They have their eye on taking a franchise quarterback, perhaps Oklahoma Heisman Trophy Kyler Murray or Ohio State's Dwayne Haskins.

Cleveland plays at New England this season.
