Despite plans to graduate in May, Hornibrook will have one year of immediate eligibility remaining.

Alex Hornibrook #12 of the Wisconsin Badgers throws a pass during warmups prior to playing the Michigan Wolverines on October 13, 2018 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Wisconsin had College Football Playoff aspirations entering 2018, but fell short.

Hornibrook was 26-6 as the badgers starter.in nine games last season, he completed just under 60 percent of his passes for 1,532 yards with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Last year's starter, Deondre Francois, was dismissed from the team last month. In 2017, when Francois was injured, James Blackman filled in. On one hand, he won consistently and dominated in big games, especially in an Orange Bowl win over Miami, where he threw four touchdowns. In the time since Francois' departure, Blackman has been the only eligible scholarship quarterback on campus. It's also far from a guarantee he beats Blackman out for the starting job, or keeps the job if he does win it once his limitations as a passer are put on display out of the run-oriented cocoon he was provided at Wisconsin.

Longtime Florida State head coach Mike Martin continues to make history in his final season. Hornibrook is the second transfer quarterback to pick the Seminoles this offseason, along with former Louisville quarterback Jordan Travis.
