NSW Police described Reddy's disappearance as "out of character" and said there were serious concerns of her welfare.

"He was not at the time of this incident in a relationship with Preethi however there had been a previous relationship". She had been stabbed "numerous times", officers said.

'If you feel anxious about dental visits you will find Dr Reddy will go out of her way to help you relax so your dental visit is much more pleasant'.

Dr Reddy was reported missing on Sunday night after she failed to return home following a dental convention at St Leonards over the weekend.

Police released the last images they had of Reddy at a McDonald's on George Street in the city centre after Mardi Gras on Sunday morning at 2.15am.

Her stabbed body was found at 9.30pm on Tuesday inside her grey Volkswagen Golf, in Kingsford.

Dengate said Strike Force Carlwood officers investigating the case were unsure where and when Dr Reddy was murdered but were working on the probability she was killed at the hotel. CCTV tracks her walking down Market Street, where she entered the lobby of the upmarket Swissotel.

Detective Superintendent Gavin Dengate said police had questioned Narde while Reddy was still the subject of a missing person's investigation.

A colleague of Dr Reddy and Narde's, who attended the conference, said he last saw the pair chatting animatedly in the hotel lobby following the event.

"They looked happy and stayed back to chat after the conference ended at 7 p.m.", he said. "I spoke to her last Thursday and it was "see you next week" and completely normal", she said adding "Now I am just praying she will be found", Holmes said.

A since-deleted post on the Oasis Smiles Dental Facebook page on Tuesday night before Reddy's body was found said it was with "great sadness we announce the tragic passing of our beloved Harsh". "It takes a lot of effort to be a dentist and she achieved it. the family's so proud that they had a daughter like that", Anand told reporters.

The Glenbrook dental surgery where Preethi Reddy worked was closed on Wednesday.

"She was a strong girl who loved dentistry". Preethi severed off her romantic relationship with Narde who, it seemed, could not handle the break-up.
