My behaviour was public and now I want to apologise in a public way too.

The striker did not feature in the first leg due to ankle ligament damage that he suffered against Manchester United in January, but he has now scored three goals in four appearances since his return to the pitch.

Their 3-0 victory over Dortmund was their first knockout victory since the beat Milan at the San Siro in 2011, closely followed by their second at the Signal Iduna Park.

"I expect to play at the new stadium".

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has repeatedly stated that he would rather move to the new stadium as soon as possible but the club has Wembley named as its venue on official paperwork.

"It's been a very particular season with a lot of circumstance, so to be in the quarter-final is a fantastic, I think this will be one to remember". Can the Bundesliga leaders overturn a 3-0 first leg defeat to book their place in their place in the quarter-finals?

Their advancement to the last eight represents progression for Pochettino's men after they exited the competition at the last 16 past year and the boss hailed it as a "fantastic achievement".

One man who was pivotal to ensuring that there would be no comeback from Dortmund was Jan Vertonghen.

"We knew it would be really hard because of the loss in the first leg. Tottenham waited for their chance and with Harry Kane up front you can do that", he said.

However, despite a mature performance, Pochettino denied suggestions his team had proved they can step up at this level.

Having defended doggedly, Spurs took the lead when Kane scored with his first chance and only his team's second of the game.

'Of course you need some luck and a good 'keeper but we dug in and we knew if we did that we wouldn't concede which was so important'.

"When you have the possibility to reach the quarter-finals, but everyone thinks the job is done, it's so unsafe". To build that possibility to be at the same level as the clubs that we are talking about, you need to start from the first step always.

"We fully deserved this".

After his first half-heroics in goal, Spurs goalkeeper Lloris said the Premier League side do not want to stop now in Europe.
