Facebook goes down and people are taking to Twitter to complain

Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are down again

Downdetector, a site that tracks website outages, reported problems with Facebook starting as early as 6.30 am Sunday morning in NY (4 pm in India).

Instagram and WhatsApp, which are both owned by Facebook, also faced accessibility issues, leaving some users unable to load their news feed or send messages.

Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp have left users frustrated this morning after going offline across the United Kingdom and Europe this morning.

Downdector.com has received more than 11,000 reports of problems since 7 a.m. ET on Sunday. Downdetector.com's live outage map showed that the issues mainly cropped up in Europe.

It was not immediately clear what caused the outage or how long the platforms would be down.

Last month the websites were hit by a similar outage which hit users across the globe for 14-hours, Facebook's worst ever.

Facebook outage reports peaked at more than 6,000, while Instagram has attracted more than 4,000 reports.

Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users are naturally taking to Twitter to share their experiences.

Facebook users are panicking as site appears to be down. The issue impacts Facebook's mobile apps and websites. As of 9 a.m., all three were back up and running.
