Pep Guardiola hailed Kevin De Bruyne's recent form for Manchester City as "incredible", and said he is able "to see passes that the rest of human beings are not able to see".

In the end, Pep Guardiola's men won with minimum fuss to put the pressure back on Liverpool, who they have a game in hand of in the Premier League title race.

"We have to learn from golf and other sports like that - the most important action is the next one".

City are looking to become the first side to retain the title since Manchester United achieved the feat in 2009, whilst Liverpool are seeking a first top-flight title in nearly three decades. There's 80 minutes left, you just have to be ready for the next opportunity.

"Selhurst Park is always hard, not just for the stadium itself but for the quality of the players they have".

Latching onto a lovely through ball down the channel from Kevin De Bruyne, Sterling managed to hold off his marker and aim a swerving shot over Palace's keeper Vicente Guaita and into the goal off the crossbar.

It doesn't look like an easy game for City on paper.

Bernardo Silva came on for David Silva as Guardiola made the first change of the afternoon, and then Ederson made a straightforward save as Benteke swivelled to bobble a strike towards goal. That is some boost at this stage of the campaign, and Guardiola was effusive in his praise of a player who, even in such a richly talented squad, noticeably raises City's level when on song.

City looked unsafe on the break throughout the game, and should have been 2-0 up as Ilkay Gundogan clipped a lovely ball over the top but three Man City players got in each others way and De Bruyne's shot was saved by Guaita.

But Palace set up a nervous finish for City, as Milivojevic curled home a free kick to make it 2-1 after Cheikhou Kouyate caused havoc in the defensive wall.
