As Niharika Bhasin's costumes gave a stylish makeover for Rajinikanth in Petta, Murugadoss has retained her for Darbar. He wrote: "Really looking forward to this film". The project goes on the floors in Mumbai from Wednesday. A police dog, several guns and the Gateway of India (located in Mumbai) also appear on the first look poster. Rajinikanth seems to be playing an IPS officer in the film. This will be Nayanthara's fourth film with the superstar after Chandramukhi, Kuselan and Sivaji. "The first look of our very own Thalaivar in Darbar".
Darbar means the King's Court where the king used to meet his ministers and other military leaders in the olden days. Interestingly, Rajinikanth last played a cop role in "Pandian", which came out in 1992 and is set to don the police uniform after more than 25 years.
One can see in the poster, the film has an appealing tagline that read as, "You decide whether you want me to be good, bad or worse". The film bankrolled by Lyca Productions has become the talking point now.
Produced by Lyca Productions, the crew consists music director Anirudh, cinematographer Santosh Sivan and editor Sreekar Prasad. He also confirmed that the film will hit the screens during Pongal festival next year.
