Machan-Le Quire, along with 22-year-old driver Michael Clemons, claimed they were trying to collect wildlife from underneath an overpass.
It was no ordinary traffic stop for deputies Monday morning in Charlotte County, Florida.
The 25-year-old pulled the foot-long animal from inside the pair of gym leggings she was wearing, which she was believed to have collected during a scavenging expedition in the early hours of the morning, Miami Herald reported. That's when she whipped out a foot-long alligator from her yoga trousers. The woman also had 41 3-stripe turtles in her vehicle.
During the stop, an officer asked the woman if she had anything else on her person, police said in a statement.
The turtles and alligator were seized by deputies and released.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission was then called to investigate.
The 41 three-striped turtles that were allegedly hidden in a backpack on the floor of a truck.
Clemons and Marchan Le Quire consented, and they opened their backpacks.
The sheriff's office said the woman was asked if she was carrying anything else, and she produced a baby alligator from inside her yoga trousers.
