Aubameyang scores twice, rates 8/10 to win Golden Boot share

The 19-year old scored in Arsenal's 3-1 thrashing of Burnley at the Turf Moor, his only goal of the season for the senior side after 5 appearances in the Premier League.

Aubameyang, who wasted another clear opportunity to add to his impressive league tally, finished with 22 goals alongside Liverpool forwards Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at the top of the scoring charts. In a season when the title was decided on the very last day, the race for the Golden Boot was decided on same day as well.

On almost scoring a hat-trick...

"I was near (to a hat-trick) but sometimes that can happen".

Aubameyang was delighted to be a member of an all-African trio of winners, saying in quotes reported by the BBC: "I share this trophy with two other guys I like, great players and African".

After a goalless first half, Aubameyang claimed his 21st and 22nd Premier League goals of the campaign soon after half-time.

"It's hard in the Premier League, we all know that, we've all seen sides who have started well and disappeared, and I think the strength and mentality - things that have been built over a long time here - the thing that serves you well isn't tactics, it's culture and environment". I have to be thankful to the team. So happy to have scored my first Premier League goal.

"We will go to Baku three or four days before the final, Saturday I think, and prepare for the match over the last three training sessions".

"But I don't know how they made a decision to play there".

"I did not want them to play and only focus on me. Eddie always works hard for the team, so I'm happy for him".
