Recalling the 1984 Sikh riots, the prime minister said that thousands of Sikhs were killed on the command of the Congress and none of them received justice after all these years.

His remarks came after Congress president Rahul Gandhi said Monday that despite Modi insulting his father Rajiv Gandhi, he only had love for the prime minister.

"We have leadership, country's security and development as our plank and what they have is only abuses", the BJP leader added.

Naidu has been in touch with leaders of most opposition parties, meeting some in person, TDP officials said. "The party stands for loots and lies".

The BJP campaign is positive and raising relevant issues, while the Congress is exhibiting its political bankruptcy, the BJP leader added. Earlier, Modi had called the former PM "Bhrashtachari no. 1".

Delhi, where seven parliamentary seats are at stake, goes to poll on May 12 in the sixth phase of seven-phased Lok Sabha elections.

The praise was in sharp contrast to Modi's attack on Patnaik and his government during the simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and state Assembly which concluded last month.

This is Gandhi's second rally in the national capital in a week.

"Friends, have you ever heard of anyone going on a holiday with his family on a warship? One dynasty did it", Modi asked. "The biggest namdaar family of the Congress had used INS Viraat, the country's pride, as its personal taxi", he claimed. This happened when Rajiv Gandhi and his family were out for a 10-day vacation.

Narendra Modi said that many abuses that he had listed was just a sample to just show how many times the Congress had crossed the line. INS Viraat was deployed for securing our maritime boundary.

"How the game to snatch farmers' land at throwaway prices was played whenever the Congress was in power in Haryana and Delhi, you know this", Modi said. The PM alleged that the Congress has given tickets to people who talk about chopping him into pieces.
