Man Utd bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace

Manchester United may need to bid £60m to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka after £40m offer is rejected

Do Manchester United even need Aaron Wan-Bissaka?

On Sunday the likes of Sky Sports confirmed that Manchester United have begun attempts at signing Crystal Palace's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Red Devils are famously going through a significant change to their squad this summer as they bid to get back among the elite in the Premier League, and have identified the England under-21 worldwide as someone they want to take to Old Trafford.

Wan-Bissaka is now with Aidy Boothroyd's England Under-21 squad preparing for the European Championships in Italy and San Marino.

They failed to sign him when Jose Mourinho was in charge last summer and they now face competition from Manchester City if they still want to bring him in.

The 21-year-old enjoyed an impressive season with the Selhurst Park outfit in 2018/19 and he been targeted as part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's summer rebuilding job at Old Trafford. While Aaron Wan-Bissaka is no doubt one of the best right-backs in English football, is he really worth that much?

This could finally sort out our right-back problem, as with two young players competing for the position, United won't need to sign another one for years to come.

Man City, of course, are the reigning Premier League champions, while Chelsea's hopes of signing the Crystal Palace star are now stifled by a transfer ban.

Having made his first team debut in February 2018, Wan-Bissaka appeared as a regular starter throughout the 2018/19 season where his consistency saw him win Palace's Player of the Season award.

The fullback turned out 39 times for Crystal Palace this past season and provided 4 assists.

United had initially offered £40million rejected by Crystal Palace, who are holding out for £60million.
