The whole event turned ugly and a few hours later, Kangana was asked to apologise by the Entertainment Guild of India, failing which they'd refuse to provide any coverage to her. Kangana's incredibly vocal sister, Rangoli Chandel, stepped in and stated that she's not going to do anything like that because she's basically exposing every "pseudo" media person. The film also stars Rajkumar Rao in a lead role.
She went on saying "These people are threatening to ban me, destroy my career. While the people involved in it fairly held their own perspectives but because it happened at the event of our film, we, as the producers, would like to apologize and express regret for this untoward incident", Ekta Kapoor said on Instagram.
The "Queen" of controversies, Kangana Ranaut is at it again.
The Entertainment Journalist Guild, which first raised the issue, has pointed out that this is not the first time Ms Ranaut and her manager-sister have insulted and abused journalists. Sharing Kangana's she wrote, "D irony is killing Kangana poster: Warned u about d madness..."
Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut is in no mood to back off after her spat with a journalist during a launch event for her upcoming film JudgeMentall Hai Kya. "A job of a journalist is to provide independent assessment of entertainment content; and critical commentary can not be reason enough to lose control, turn against the media and hurl expletives", the release said, adding that if necessary members of the club will take up the matter with "various associations of filmmakers".
On Tuesday, in its letter to Kapoor, the Guild said the boycott is a collective decision but would extend only to the actor and not affect the film or the rest of its cast. We have to see what the media has to tell about the movie. "Things shouldn't be taken personally, you are here doing your work and the same goes for us", he said. She stopped him and accused him of running a "smear campaign" against her.
"Judgementall Hai Kya", which also features Rajkummar Rao, is scheduled to be released on July 26.
