HarmonyOS: Android Replacement OS For Huawei

Huawei has launched its own operating system - the HongmengOS, known in English as the HarmonyOS, said the CEO of the Chinese tech giant's consumer division, Richard Yu, on Friday.

Honor Vision TV is tagged with a price tag of 3799 Yuan (US$ 537) whereas Vision TV Pro is tagged with a price tag of 4799 Yuan (US$ 679). The Honor Smart TV is going to come with a three-sided borderless full-screen design along with 94% screen to body ratio.

Huawei Smart Screens uses innovative technology to push the limits of traditional TVs.

The television will be available from Thursday in China and marks the first use of HarmonyOS, chief executive George Zhao said, adding that it will be marketed by its mid-range brand, Honor.

"It's not only a TV but it represents the future of TV", said Zhao Ming, Honor's president. The tech giant also stresses that the new platform will officially be open source, which could be a part of the firm's efforts to fend off United States spying allegations. The operating system can be used on various smart devices and will be launched on "smart screen products", such as televisions, later this year. HarmonyOS will be optimised and gradually adopted across the brand's smart devices including smart watches, smart screens, in-vehicle systems, and smart speakers. The latest smart TVs features a 55-inch 4K UHD display and are built around a quad-core Honghu 818 processor. Moreover, the pop-up camera can also be adjusted by 10 degree downwards.

The regular Honor Vision features four 10W speakers, while the Pro variant houses six of the same speakers.

The "Honor Vision" sports three self-developed intelligent chipsets.

Home Entertainment Center: HONOR Vision offers an extraordinary audio and video experience, with a library of content from Huawei Video and a range of other platforms, creating a one-stop shop for TV series, variety shows, movies, music, animation and more. The Honor TV needs to be operated from a phone or tablet to use as a TV and also be a second screen for their device. The smart TVs sport a 6.9mm full metal frame and a diamond-patterned rear, supporting an intelligent breathing light. Users can also swap between Miracast mode and DLNA mode seamlessly when watching videos, browsing images and gaming. The TV will go on pre-order starting tomorrow, with sales commencing on August 15th.
