A24 recently teased the film's second official trailer and it shows Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson quarreling over "secrets" and experiencing a terrifying mind trip. The cinematography, the aspect ratio, the lighting, the setting, and of course, Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe starring alongside being directed by Robert Eggers who wrote and directed The VVitch, I cant wait anymore.

The film had its world premiere on May 19, 2019 in the Directors' Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received critical acclaim. Well, Eggers is finally back with his sophomore feature, and if you thought he was going to abandon his stylistic boldness and commitment to esoteric, historically accurate speech patterns, well, the new trailer for should dispel those notions completely.

The film is released in the U.S. from the 18th of October.

All in all, Eggers has seemingly managed to up the ante on his use of both atmospheric tension and minimalism to evoke some truly unsettling results.

The Lighthouse arrives in limited release to Los Angeles and NY theaters on October 18 before a wider release sometime afterward.
