Aldrin also specified "space allies" Russia, Japan, India, the European Space Agency, and later other nations, as part of a "Space Exploration Alliance" with the United States.
Landing on the Moon, according to USA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir, the first all-female duo to conduct a spacewalk.
This was Meir's first spacewalk.
Congratulating the two astronauts, US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said they are an inspiration to women.
The first all-female spacewalk in history has taken place outside the International Space Station.
In her response, Jessica Meir made it clear that she and Koch were only building upon the work of many previous women spacewalkers before them.
But she added: "It's really nice to see how far that we've come".
"For us, it's just coming out here and doing our job today". In the 35 years since, a total of 15 women have spacewalked. From NASA's scientific and technical assessment of Mars mission feasibility for a 2035 target, however, the agency previously discussed this date as early as 2015.
Her partner for Friday's spacewalk, Koch, also is a member of the 21st class of astronauts. Astronauts are going to stay and work out of the lander for six and a half days, based on NASA.
Koch and Meir walked outside the International Space Station to replace a faulty battery unit.
When asked on NASA TV whether Meir and Koch could pair up for future spacewalks, Meir said that remains a possibility with the slate on the schedule over the next two months.
However, Meir fact-checked the President and said that they were not the first female astronauts to walk in space.
