Male breast cancer is a rare ailment that normally occurs among men aged over 60.
Mathew Knowles is opening up about his private battle with breast cancer.
Knowles, 67, revealed his diagnosis and opened about living with the disease on a "Good Morning America" interview that will air on Wednesday.
In a teaser for the chat shared Tuesday, GMA presenter, Michael Strahan asks Mattew Knowles: "How was it to tell your family about the diagnosis?"
Matthew Knowles discovered that he had the BRCA mutation, which means that he is at a higher risk of developing four different types of cancer during his lifetime.
About 245,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women and 2,200 in men each year in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"I just wanted to have a clean bill of health", he said.
October is breast cancer awareness month.
"Things that used to be important are not important to me now", Knowles said to Strahan. "That's male or female", he continues.
